CHOOSE A SEQUENCEAuthored soil scenario · root and crown axes share a metre scale.
The shape of growth
Illustrative height trajectories · not measured growth data
Age alone does not determine size. Climate, competition, genetics, and site conditions alter growth. These curves are editable illustration parameters, not forecasts.
A plant’s changing dimensions
Preparing geometry measurements…
Measurements describe this reconstruction. Age trajectories are illustrative; leaf size is enlarged. Enclosed area is not biomass, leaf area, shade coverage or a planting-distance recommendation.
How these measurements are calculated
Plan areas use projected convex hulls: 24 directional crown supports and sampled root curves. Root-depth bars sum sampled axis lengths in metre intervals. They omit the absorptive fine-root system. Stem diameter is sampled at 1.3 m above the origin and does not apply field buttress corrections. Height increment is the change in the highest woody point over the previous model year, not a measured field rate. The download contains 31 age samples, units, soil assumptions and references.
